There’s something I’m not dealing with. Something lingers down below, finding comfort in the fogginess of memory and the cobwebs of avoidance and distraction.

I’ve come to the next level of my self-awareness, where I can no longer ignore the fact that there is still one issue that I haven’t quite overcome.

We all know our issues by now, but how many of us actually take the time to sit and unravel them? How many of us put on our ripped jeans, get on our hands and knees and claw with our fingers in the dirt, grime under our nails, ripping up the roots of our issues, pulling up the weeds and burning them.

Not many. It’s for the simple fact that, it’s terrifying. Who knows what vermin you’ll find down there? Or maybe you do know and that’s even more of a reason not to dig. Even more of a reason not to get tangled with the worms, not to be face to face with the spiders and slugs and maggots that eat at the idea of your happiness. The happiness that can never be whole while it is suffocated by weeds.

What is there to fear anyways? What exactly will happen if you choose to dig?

You might cry. Ok, you’ve done that before, wipe away the tears and continue on.

You could feel like a terrible person. And yes, maybe you HAVE done things that are terrible. Acknowledge them as actions you’ve done, not as characteristics of who are and BE BETTER.

You’ll probably feel pain. The pain will subside as all things do.

You might realize that you don’t know who you are. Oh, but you do, you are the LIGHT, you are cosmic energy that radiates, magnifies, and creates. You are that you are.

No job or style, or nationality makes you more or less, YOU.

You’ve begun to identify with the worms that eat at the roots, not realizing that you are the flower

If we think about it logically, we find that the thing we are afraid of isn’t that scary at all. It isn’t impossible to overcome. It isn’t going to kill us. It just isn’t. And what it definitely “isn’t”, is something we have to take on alone.

You. Are. Loved.

There are people that will get on their hands and knees, mud on their face, hand rake in tow, and dig up those roots with you. They will dig with you. Trust in those who love you and let’s dig.

With all the Love that I am
